School Teacher Says it Best

My husband and I were having difficulty with my 5 year old son's behavior. Jesse would not follow directions when asked to at home and was getting aggressive towards me. I knew that I needed to change something about his behavior and quick. A friend of mine had her children enrolled at Premier Martial Arts and was explaining the positive behaviors that were exhibited and targeted at the school. At the same time, I was also seeing the pediatrician and discussed putting Jesse in martial arts. The pediatrician felt that it would be a positive thing for him. Not only did we enroll Jesse in at Premier Martial Arts, but myself, my husband, and my 9 year old daughter also started taking lessons. With the help of the Premier staff and a consistent approach to discipline at home there were positive behavior changes in my son. He now had an outlet to release his frustration and extra energy in a positive and safe way. The instructors always stress respect, listening, follow-through, and positive self-image. The instructors would take extra time with Jesse to discuss his behavior if I had a concern. Every month a new life skill is introduced and discussed. Premier Martial Arts students must demonstrate positive behavior at home, school, and in the dojo in order to progress. Joining Premier Martial Arts has been a positive experience for my entire family. We are able to train together and watch each other grow. I am so pleased with Premier and the instructors. It is worth every penny!!!!

Mom Gets Courage

My first introduction to Premier Martial Arts was at a PTO meeting at Elmcrest Elementary. As I listened to Bill Storm talk about the six week introduction after school program I thought how nice for the kids. My second time was at our school safety night in October 2007. As I listened to Bill talk about Martial Arts and safety, I realized that I had not looked at Martial Arts as a learning tool for Safety. This was not just punching and kicking for a better body or fun, Martial arts has a purpose. Self Defense is not just fighting but learning to have focus and self control. Using common sense instead of self defense. My seven year old was so excited about learning more. We came to a workshop at the dojo. Bill was very encouraging to the kids and parents. I was curious, but my seven year old has severe asthma and needed physician clearance before he could start. Finally in January 2008, my son received his clearance. My husband and I decided that both our sons should try the introductory program and see how they would do. My ten year old was not excited to join, my youngest was thrilled. After meeting for the first lesson, both boys were self conscious and unsure of themselves. Some days it felt like pulling teeth to get my oldest to go. Once we were at the dojo, he seemed like he enjoyed the program. I was impressed with how the students were handled. My boys were learning yet not upset when they did not do the move correctly. The instructors talked to the students in a kind, respectful manner. Soon, both my sons were less self conscious. My oldest started being the one to say is it time to go yet? When it was time for belt testing, I was unsure if the boys were ready. When I asked them if they would like to test for belts, they both said with confidence YES! After receiving their yellow belts I noticed more changes. Both boys were more focused, more determined to do their best. They work with each other on moves. They both have better self esteems. I think the monthly Black Belt sheets also are helpful. This allows the school to know that the boys are involved in an outside activity. The boys also know that if their grades and behavior are not good a teacher does not have to sign them. Most of all they are learning that Martial Arts is not just punching, kicking, but exercising the body and brain. Learning the traits of a true Martial Artist is also having good characteristics like kindness, respectfulness, responsibility etc, all wrapped up into one package. . I knew that a Women’s class was offered because Bill had mentioned it in the beginning. But I would admit to being afraid. I thought that people would make fun of me or I would look stupid. I knew that I was out of shape and not the size I should be. Periodically Michelle Storm would mention the class, but I did not join. About three weeks ago, I was talking with Michele, during our conversation came up the Women’s Self Defense class. Michelle was talking about it being fun, yet a good work out, and pacing yourself. A miracle happened. I knew I had to do something to help myself but that day I felt like I needed to check the class out. The women in the class were very kind, friendly, and encouraging. I thought Michelle is right, this class is fun and a good work out. My second fear was Coach Gervais and his work outs. I thought that he would be tough, but I found that he is tough in a different way. He works you because he wants you to succeed. During the month of June, the Black Belt testing sheet is on Courage. I think I fall under that category. I became courageous when I stepped through the doors of Premier Martial Arts to take my first class. I survived and now I am making a commitment to come to each class. Words cannot express the changes that have occurred in my family since joining Premier. Words cannot express our thankfulness to Bill and Michelle Storm for making Premier Martial Arts a family oriented business that reaches out to the community through many avenues. We also cannot express our thankfulness to Coach Gervais and Coach Reith for all their encouragement and help in making us do our best.

Thank You, Victoria Burns

FATHER BENEFITS FROM DAUGHTER’S TRAINING

Thank you for all that you have done for my family. My daughter started in a more traditional setting before working you. She was doing well and I was impressed with her ability to learn. She went regularly for five months and then started training with Premier. The advances she made in just two months were astounding. As you often say in class she was performing at a level 7 and went straight to level ten. Her self-confidence grew as well as her abilities to defend her self and most importantly she knows what to do in case of a problem. Your teachings go far beyond the physical attacks, your training is about being smart and doing the right thing.

I was personally so impressed with the improvements my daughter made, I began training as well. I have a medical condition that causes me to have poor stamina. I was very impressed with your trainers’ abilities to push each person with out making you feel less of a person. They always seem to bring out the best in everybody. I was quite embarrassed not to be able to keep up in class, at first. Within just a month or so I was able to train in a normal class. Now after five months I can train in your more advanced training classes. I am in the best shape mentally and physically I have been in, in years. I have lost 18 pounds and 2 inches in my waist, with out even trying. I have gained self confidence in my physical body as well as my mental body.

You training facility has transformed my life. I began my own business and your training gives me the self confidence I need to keep going. I know that I would not be were I am today if I did not give you a chance.

A WOMAN’S PERSPECTIVE

I am writing this letter as a recommendation for Premier Martial Arts. I would like to tell you my experience with this facility. First I would like to say that I would recommend this program to everyone. I would recommend this program to men, women, your and old. I believe that it is very self motivating.

Starting with my first visit to the facility, it was very personable. The owner, Bill Storm, arranged a one on one training session. I was able to come and evaluate the training before having to make a commitment to a program. This training allowed me to get to know the trainers on a personal level. I was able to become comfortable with the facility before having to join a program. I found that very unique and beneficial.

When I started the program I was impressed with the schedule. It is set up for working professionals. Class is in the evening. The schedule also has a Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday time difference. This allows me to do other errands after my workday. Then the schedule allows for a longer workout class on Saturday morning which is great in case I miss a day during the week. You can catch up with a longer class on Saturday. Perfect!!!

The kickboxing program that I have experienced is very intense. This program allows for every muscle to be worked with correct technique. The instructors make sure that I am doing the technique correctly in order to benefit me. I also enjoy doing different exercises every night. The instructor makes sure that I am interested and entertained with all the different techniques.

I love the way I feel during and after class. I feel as though I am learning. Not only am I exercising, but I am learning. I have learned self defense techniques. I have learned endurance. I have learned timeliness. I have learned respect and have gained confidence.

I feel like I have come a long way since I started the program. I feel great physically and emotionally. The motivation that I have received from the personal trainers at Premier Martial Arts has made me a better person. I would like to say thank you for my experience. I intend to spread the word about the fabulous family that I am now a part of.

Thank you again, Cari McLaughlin

FLYING THE COLORS WITH PRIDE

Supporting some one who is doing the right things for the right reason is easy. Today my daughter was invited to another martial arts school by a friend of hers from day care for a birthday party. She wanted to wear her Premier uniform because she likes her dojo and wanted people to know were she goes. This was her decision that she made on her own. To the best of my knowledge she did not know that I had planned on wearing my Premier Fight Team t-shirt. To top it off another member volunteered to show up and take pictures. Three different people showed up in Premier gear. We showed flew the colors with pride and class. This school you are creating goes beyond anything I have ever seen. When I first came to the dojo Marc caught my eye and my spirit. There is a man that loves what he does was my thought and better than that he can teach it as well. Then you took over and the changes starting to come. You and I talked and you gave me support well beyond the floor. The support you gave to me has more value than any dollar figure that I could pay for. I now understand the real value of time and knowledge and support, things you can't afford to be with out. What I have got out of five months of your school I have paid thousands for in the past and at no level of comparison. I am proud to be part of your dojo and will support with the value you have given to me. I will fly Team Premier colors any where even to the others homes. Not in disrespect to them but in honor to what I have learned from you. In five month my self confidence has increased, my physical conditioning has grown, my strength and endurance are increasing, but most of all my "I can do it" attitude has grown so strong that I know I can, it may take longer but I know now it will be done. Thanks Bill, Marc, Jason, Carl and all that help out at Premier. Chris Smith

LOST 12 POUNDS

As soon as my daughter was old enough I knew I wanted to get her into some sort of self defense system. My wife and I both wanted her to be able to protect herself but we are both very focused on education too and knew that martial arts can help children to focus. We were both pleased to see her take to it as well as she has. She looks forward to going to class, making new friends and doing her best. When they ask for a volunteer her hand is always the 1st one in the air.

Three months after she started I decided I wanted to give it a shot. I quit smoking 1 year ago after 16 years of over a pack a day habit. Needless to say I was not in great shape physically. The first few classes were really tough for me but I enjoyed the challenge. Now I go 3 times a week and stay after for the premier portion where I get to match my skills against the other students. I really enjoy testing myself in that way and have so far lost 12 pounds over the last 6 months while also adding muscle. Overall I feel like I am getting in better shape every week and just like my daughter I too look forward to going to class.

Just recently my wife also started going. She enjoys the fitness/kickboxing classes and is now going 3 times a week. Before we would come home every night and zone out in front of the TV. Now we are out exercising and have developed a more active and health oriented lifestyle. Plus we all really enjoy the friendly, family oriented environment at Premier.

Joining Premier has been a great decision for my family!

A CONFIDENCE BOOST

Before our introduction to Premier Martial Arts, our daughter was a timid five-year old, whom lacked self-confidence. We decided to participate in a Premier Martial Arts after school program offered through the school. After a mere six weeks, our daughter was slowly earning confidence and clearly enjoyed participating in the program. Her positive response prompted us to continue her lessons with Premier Martial Arts. Currently, she is working on obtaining her orange belt and has earned so much confidence that she actually independently participates during classes. We are beyond pleased!!!

EMPOWERING WOMEN

"As a 24-year-old woman I joined Premier Martial Arts to simply lose weight and tone up; the gym just wasn't working for me. Just three weeks into the program not only have I started to lose weight, but I'm growing stronger both physically and mentally."

FAMILY FUN

I like Premier because it is family oriented. It is a place for the entire family to enjoy while getting in shape, learning self defense and becoming more self disciplined. They make it fun to become a more well rounded person.

A PROUD PAPA

This is a very special testimonial about Storm’s Premier Martial Arts for a number of reasons.

The first is that I am in my 60’s and only began the martial arts program two year ago. No, this wasn’t a mid-life stunt. I knew I needed to confront the fact that I had gotten way out of shape and needed not just physical exercise but the mental discipline to stick with any program I was going to try. I had started to exercise numerous times on my own - always with the same results – I’d stop. I thought working with a group of people would be helpful. That turned out to be exactly what has happened. Earning a belt meant you had been working with new friends, setting goals and succeeding. The mental discipline that is part and parcel of the martial arts provided a stick-to-it attitude that has no equal in typical exercise programs.

As an older adult, I was very hesitant to begin. The second reason I decided to go ahead however was the program allowed me to go at my own pace – doing as much as I could, when I could. I didn’t have to keep up with anyone but myself. I could and did set my own personal benchmarks. I have a bad back and had a very serious setback in 2001 with carbon monoxide poisoning. When I started I couldn’t do a single pushup and most of my joints were painful; today, I have no problem doing multiple sets of pushups and other exercise that I never thought would have been possible. My flexibility is far better than I could have hoped for. Appreciate that when swinging a golf club or picking up my grandchildren.

My third reason is one that is unique to me. My son is the owner of the facility and through a lot of encouragement helped me to help myself. We have three generations now on the floor at the same time. The two youngest handle it so well – however what I know is that it is the oldest that is reaping benefits that I never could have imagined.

AWESOME BIRTHDAY PARTIES

Hey! I just wanted to say thank you for a GREAT 7th bday party for my daughter Brionna. I was very impressed with how Marc & Jason handled the kids. They all had a great time. Many of the parents have been calling me this weekend to tell me what a great job that Marc & Jason did!! I'm sure there will be some parents & kids coming in to check out the programs available.

Thanks again Heather F.

A GREAT EXPERIENCE

Mr. Storm,

I wanted to take some time to let you know how wonderful the tournament was. The kids all did so great! Each and everyone of them had their shining moment and boy did they all have big smiles on their faces to show for it! I can attest as a parent how proud I was to have my daughter in the ring and given the opportunity to put all her skills to the test. I only get to see bits and pieces when I take her to practice but in that two or three minutes when they are actually sparing they put it all together and can apply all the skills that they have learned. Delanie has come a long way in these past few months and I am really proud of her. I owe all of you a BIG thank you for the time and energy that you have spent with her. I was so nervous about the tournament and the fact that she was going to be "fighting" with someone in the arena but I can honestly say I walked out of there feeling two feet taller myself just knowing that if my daughter where ever in the position where she needed to defend herself she indeed could.

I also want to point out the amazing job Coach Jason and Coach Carl did with all the kids. They both had some amazing words of encouragement and the kids all responded to them as if they were born to listen to them. They helped the kids that day learn life lessons and my daughter will never forget the moment Coach came over and told her that he was proud of her. They made sure that every child felt important and that they were champions even if they didn't walk out with a trophy! I just can't say enough about the experience. Not only am I glad that I signed Delanie up and allowed her to participate in the tournament but I regret that I didn't make the call sooner to actually enroll her in your school earlier. Bravo Premier!!!!!

Please accept and share my heartfelt thank you to you and your entire staff. You have made a foot print in our hearts.

SIncerely,

Shana D.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE WITH AN ADHD CHILD

When we joined Storm's Premier Martial Arts we had just moved to the area for my husband's job. Our son Brennan was having a hard time adjusting to the move. He was having behavior issues in school and at home. With the addition of a diagnosis of ADHD, things were difficult for all involved to say the least. On a whim and with some recommendations from people I've talked to about kids with his disability, I enrolled Brennan in Storm's basic black belt training. Of course changes with Brennan didn't happen over night. As time went on I noticed with the discipline and consistency he received from the incredible staff at Storm's, his behavior and focus gradually started to change for the better. With each passing semester in school I received an improved progress report from his teacher. She has commented on how Brennan is constantly working on his behavior and making good choices in class. Every report card he brought home was better from one semester to the next. Brennan is a different kid when out on the floor with his instructors at Storm's. His focus and self control is improved. I can tell he is enjoying himself and giving it his all. This was not the case before we joined Storm's. His instructors are firm yet fair with him. They do not tolerate any horse play or slacking off what so ever. This may seem harsh from the outside looking in. After being there class after class you can tell his instructors do this with care and respect not only for the kids, but also their love for martial arts. In Brennan's case I think this is exactly the type of atmosphere he needed to be immersed in. As a parent of a student involved with Storm's I would recommend them and the experience they provide to anyone. Bill Storm along with his faithful and dedicated wife have made our time there very positive. They are very compassionate and considerate people. With the level training you get at Storm's from all the staff, there is no way you can go wrong. If you are looking for a top notch school to introduce your child to the world of martial arts, Storm's Premier Martial Arts is the place to be!

WHAT DISABILITY? Hi Bill, I know you guys probably hear this all of the time, but I just wanted to say thank you again. You honestly have no idea how much help you all have been. I walk out of that door after a session and feel like a million bucks, so confident and strong both physically and mentally and it's one of the best feelings in the world. I've already noticed it with work, just my thought process or the way I stand or being more aware of my surroundings. It's funny, when I'm in an unfamiliar area or a place that just doesn't feel right, I replay different scenarios or things I've learned, in my head. Maybe it doesn't make much sense, but It sort of puts me at ease, or makes me feel prepared or not feel vulnerable etc. I just wanted to thank you again for all of your help, patients, knowledge, and support. My goal is definitely to continue and learn as much as I possibly can. I don't even care if it takes me 15 years to get handed that black belt. I just want to do the best i can and enjoy every bit of training. Alright, I'll stop rambling now ha ha, I just felt awesome after leaving tonight and thought I'd say thanks. See you on Wednesday

Read more about our program philosophy here: Our Programs

Fitness is a Goal

No matter if you are five or sixty five, Strength, Conditioning, and Flexibility are all benefits that a student can expect to receive with Premier Martial Arts Training. Every muscle group is strengthened and defined with the exercises, movements, techniques, and training drills that are incorporated into our curriculum. Your endurance and stamina will peak as we increase your cardiovascular conditioning. All of the physical benefits for your body will be felt in your daily life and activities, increasing your energy and confidence.

Focus + Discipline = Success

Most any exercise gets some results when done, most any self defense is better than none. The problem is that most fitness programs fail to offer the excitement and interest to keep the participant consistent in their training, therefore setting them up for failure in their results.

The success in the results of the Premier Martial Arts physical program is supported by personal development. The student learns concepts and receives coaching that keeps them on track; Focus, goal setting, self discipline, and confidence to name a few. It is like having your own personal trainer and success coach all in one. The best thing is that you will receive incredible physical benefits and personal development traits, while receiving the feeling of empowerment that is developed through the self defense training.
